Our Story
From Ecuador's "City of Gold" to New Canaan's premier dining destination - discover the passion and heritage behind Cava Wine Bar & Wood Grille.
The American Dream
The Siguenza Family Legacy
Long before they were American citizens, siblings Nube, Kleber, and Vicente Siguenza developed Cava Wine Bar, an authentic Italian restaurant with a generous wine selection.
Executive Chef Nube marries her passion for food and classical training to create Italian fare true to the Italian culinary tradition. No strangers to the intricacies of wine and food pairings, the siblings have received the Gold Coast Award, where Cava's wine list was highlighted as one of the region's best.
The distinguishing rich history that connects the building to the Connecticut Gold Coast is prominently displayed in the main dining room, "ensconced in a wine-cellar-like setting, to provide the ideal temperature all year round for the storage of wine and the enjoyment of its guests, for which the wine takes its name."
The Siguenza's passion for fresh food, fine wine and hospitality has enabled this family-owned restaurant to become the American Dream.

Meet Chef Nube
From Cuenca, Ecuador to New Canaan, Connecticut - a culinary journey of passion, heritage, and excellence.
Culinary Excellence
Nube Siguenza arrived in the United States 20 years ago from Cuenca, Ecuador (known as "The City of Gold") to join her younger brothers, Kleber and Vicente in Connecticut. Soon she settled in the New Canaan area and began a family of her own, all the while honing her culinary skills and learning to navigate the restaurant business in the U.S.
She has stayed deeply connected to her Ecuadorian roots through annual travels back to the homeland. Her mother has been fortunate enough to join her children in the U.S., where she can be seen lending a helping hand in her daughter's kitchen.
Nube keeps the connection to her heritage of Ecuador and "The City of Gold" strong by bringing the old world each day to the Cava experience. Nube is making her mark as Chef-Owner known for her down to earth style, passion for food, award winning cuisine, and one-of-a-kind personality in Fairfield County.
